These works comprise a vibrant and exciting collection of pastels. The work on display comes from a number of artists who are all members of the Tasmanian Pastel Society.
The artists exhibiting were:
Julian Bale - Julian has been an artist fo over 20 years and a gallery owner for 6 years. Julian lives in Sheffield where he has his own studio. Julian is a well-known Tasmanian artist, having won art awards and exhibited widely. His work is represented in private and public collections in Australia, England, America andNew Zealand.
John Bale - John works mainly in pastel from his studio in Latrobe. Last year John received the viewer's award with his grandson Roberet, at the Mural Fest in Sheffield. John has been active in setting up the Tasmanian Pastel Society, as well as the Latrobe community Art Group, to help promote Tasmanian art.
Warren Barber - Warren is an accomplished pastel artist, with many exhibitions to his credit. Warren's style and use of colour provides a vibrant and fresh result. He enjoys taking inspiration from his surrounding countryside. Warren's work is represented in many private collections.
George Macdonald - George is a well-rounded artist. While his first love is pastel, he also works in other mediums, one of which is alpaca wool. His studio is in Sheffield.
